There has only been 1 show in the state of TN and that was done by some con artists back a few years ago. We were there as a vendor and only a hand full of other vendors were too. But Wildlife came in (about 10) fully dressed and fully armed. I think it also has to do with City and County laws too.
You are correct southren cat. Tn. law requires anyone who sells native animals to have a 250.00 prop. permit. That price is way to high for most vendors and breeders to even consider buying it. Now heres the worse part. TWRA's main guy Wayne Cook sees anything that will survive in the wild in Tn. as a native species. expect boids. :main_no: I have been threw this to many times with this man and there has been several more educated people before me that has battled with him over this issue. I know because I have spoked to a few of them. So basically there will not be a reptile show in Tn. until Wayne retires and they appoint someone else thats willing to be reasonable about the laws. Your best bet for expos is going to joining states. I use to go to the KY reptile expos to buy and sell. It is a great expo and was only about four hours away from where I lived right out of knoxville. But now I am living in central Florida were there permits are cheap and there is a show just about once a month with in 2 hours from me, so I don't have to deal with Mr. Wayne any longer. If you need more information on the TN. laws or anything else, just send me a email as I believe I still have a copy saved on my pc somewhere. Or you can call the TWRA and request a copy, they dont make the laws public unless you break them or ask for a copy of them.. Great state I was born and raised in..
