I brought this little guy home the other day, saw him when I was buying crickets and had to get him, only 15 bucks. After I put him in his tank, he almost seemed to have gotten darker. Is there any reason for this?

I took the pictures before I bought him at the petstore. The two spots on his back have seemed to get darker. I was also wondering if he would lose the spots after awhile?

They get lighter or darker depending on the temperatures they are kept at usually they are brighter when they are warmer.

If the spots are getting darker then chances are they will stay. Pretty little thing.

Nice!!!

I have him at about 90-92F on the warm side, you think that'll brighten him up. I just noticed he seemed darker only after 1 day of having him...I just didn't know if the spots would fade with age, or if he would brighten up.. thanks

First congrats on the new leo, second please get him off the sand... you risk impaction, there are a ton of threads that can help explain this, just put sand into the search bar, and third like was stated color depends a lot on temps. Warmer temps, brighter colors. I would recommend keeping his tank around 93-95 on the hot side but this is also a big subject of debate. There is a thread titled "what about the hot side lol" that would be worth a read.

I have him on slate, this picture was taken at the petstore. Also, can I adjust the temp. on my UTH, all of my tanks and heaters stay at about 88-92, but I would like to brighten my leos up, so any advice would help

If you currently aren't using a thermostat on your UTH then it's likely at maximum output so your only options are getting one like a cobra that heats at 100 degrees consistantly and constantly or upsize to a larger UTH. If you want to brighten colors you prob want to stay around the 95 range then imo. Good for you for having slate. Seeing the sand really worried me. Stupid pet shops :(
