OK....the 2 the pic is of hatched 5/08/08. They are temp-sexed females (82 degrees F). I noticed that when they hatched they both, but particularly the bigger one (right), have really black feet and legs. They have since shed and are even darker! They're really cool looking, but this is just throwing me for a loop as I'm used to my hatchlings getting brighter w/ sheds. They just had a brother hatch today (temp-sexed male @ 89 degrees F) who is just as black with jet black little feet. Just curious if this is common and they start to lighten up after a bit?? The sire and dam are really quite bright and have nice colors. Dad is Helios (<<<<<my avatar pic) Sunglow het Raptor and Mom is a SHTCTB. These are my first non-albino babies, so I guess they're really different to me, anyway.

Sorry about the book. I will try to get updated pics of the 5/08 girls and get some of their newly hatched brother tomorrow.

Thanks, John! I wasn't to the point of, like, freaking out or anything ;) lol, but was just curious if this was normal. I really didn't expect them to darken after the first couple sheds, but I'm sure they'll start to lighten up after that. I think I'm going to try and take some good progression pics on these guys and see where it goes! Just for fun! :D

Quite a few of my Super Hypo Tangerine babies hatch with dark feet like that, and if you are only used to hatching albinos, that may be new for you. It is pretty common though. They will lighten up over time.

And an update on the 2 girls from the first pics. They have shed again and are still cute little black-footed things. The one girl seems to be hypo-ing out and I think I am seeing some dorsal stripes. I wonder if they will stay? These guys are so fun to watch develop!

I am really liking the SHTCT and Sunglow changes, in particular.

I keep missing my little ones coming out of the egg! :main_rolleyes: Out of 15 hatchlings so far this year, I haven't caught ONE! :( Ahhhh, I guess I must just improve my egg-stalking abilities! ;) lol

They are all absolutely darling, and I'm really liking the little black/darker feet. We are only hatching snows and normals, and they all have pink feet, so this is a new thing to me as well :)

Good luck on catching an egg actually hatching!! :D
