This is my pair of geckos, and the hatchling from them. The pair has 60% carrot tail each. I bought them as SHTCTB but the baby only has one yellow/orange stripe down its back. Other than that it is brown and dark grey/white bands. The bands look like they are outlined in white. What would the parents have to be het for? The female also has RED on her carrot tail. Not dark orange, but dark orange with red areas. So what do you think they are? Thanks for reading and answering.

They look like shtctb to me including the hatchling. The hatchling will change quite a bit as it grows out of it's hatchling coloration.

Hard to tell looks like yellow and blackish brown in the photo. Incubation temps can affect coloration, what temp was it incubated at? Let's see what the other more experienced members think.

you cannot have a SHTCTB that's het for mack snow,as it is a dominant gene.heterozygous dominant genes are visible if i remember correctly.someone correct me if i'm wrong.

it was incubated at 80 for three weeks, then 90 for 19 days, the rest of the incubation period

Yup then there is that mack snow can't be het forgot about that one.

That temp is a little on the low side which if I recall can darken the hatchling. If your temp sexing for females it's usually around 83. That might explain it.

it was on top of the hovabator set for 90, for 21 days, then inside the 90 degree hovabator for the rest of incubation, for 19 days. does anyone have any pictures of their hatchling shtctb? :)

yeah if the baby was these colors at hatching its a shtcb just as its parents. Some baby tangerines hatch with the differrent brown color. The brown instead of black somtimes means it will be a very nice looking tangerine.

hard to say for sure. a premature baby has lack of color as well. So without knowing adults genetics for sure we are all just speculating. Untill you make more snows or super snows...
