Shy & Fiesty critters

I was wondering why all my leopard geckos (2 hatchlings & 1 subjuvenile) are aggressive. They hiss at me, and even try to bite me at times. Is this normal? I thought leos were supposed to be tamed?

Also, they never come out. I know they're nocturnal.. but c'mon!!! Even at night, every time I try to peek at their cages, they're all inside the hide box. Is this normal? Although I sometimes see them hunting around, but as soon as I enter the room, I'd hear them rush inside their hide box. I don't want to stress them, so I leave them alone. Should I try to pry them out of their hide box and force them to like my hand?:main_huh:

Night for you and night for them are totally different.
They wake up in the am, sometimes late pm, and go back to sleep before 6.
Your gecko's are young, theyre going to be hyper and skittish and think theyre all that and a bag of chips.
The more you handle them the more theyll get used to you and calm down.

How long have you had them? It took me awhile to calm my leopards down. I didn't handle them for the first 1 1/2 months except to clean their cage. I also kinda talk low to them as I feed and clean so they got used to my voice. I also let them see my fingers before I try to pick them up so they don't get startled. I have only been bite once and it was my new female I got a week ago.

I bought them all last week (2 hatchlings on Dec. 2 and 1 sub juvenile on Dec. 6). Hmm.. maybe I'll leave them alone for now till they grow and get accustomed to the new environment.

Yeah wait a while.. plus if you want to you could cover up the sides of there cages and take a side off a week. That way you might be able to peak in on them. thats what I had to do for my new girls now I pick them up every other day and there fine. Its only been about 6 weeks that I have had the juvi's. Talking works too.

Yea my hatchling hisses and actually bit my hand over the weekend. Didnt feel it though haha. they just act like lil badass's when they are young for some reason i just handle him a little till he gets used to it
