I bought a gecko from local petstore..I know that's a big nono..but it looked so skinny and pathetic and since i own two thers that feed well poop well and so on I thought maybe i could take it home and fatten her up..give her a good home. The enclosure they had it in was not made for a gecko so I am thinking they are dumb and do not know what they are doin. So it is very skinny and small..see pic..well it wasn't eating anything first couple days..no surprise since new environment..keep mini mealies in dish all the time for it in cage changing them everyday to gutload and give her fresh ones for vitamins..quarentined in it's own tank and using strict cleanliness as I do not want my other two to get sick..temps great tho and using paper towl substrate..fresh water daily and so on..few days after getting it decided to get it wax worms since it showed no interest in mealies and thot it would fatten it up a little maybe perk its appetite. Friday night ate one wax..pooped the next day..was a little watery but it does drink water so was thinking it was because it had only drank water and that was first meal..Saturday early morn ate one more wax but no more then that still no interest in mealies and i drop them in front of it at feeding as it doesn't seem to FIND the food dish...was all good pooped again a little runny still drinking water...Sunday night got it to take a mealy and a wax worm and i was excited it ate two instead of one!..Monday morn regurgitation of both worms
too much in her tiny body or sickness??? should i just try one wax again and see what happens? I try to feed it a couple times a day but she actually only will eat in evening (not surprised) and only takes one. Sleeps a lot but like i said does come out for drinks..thanks in advance for feedback..I just want her/him to be ok but at this point not very hopeful..pet store said they had had her 3 weeks and if they did they didn't monitor them at all..hate that place and had a few words with them regarding care n such..no I'm not mean but concerned about animals in their care.. many times I have seen dead animals in their care especially fish, reptiles and rodents..wanted to try to save one..I'm hoping it's not crypt but it is a possibility...oh and seperate food as well..when i replace mealies hers are in a seperate dish altogether then my other mealies housed for the healthier geckos..thanks again
