My 2 year old male leopard gecko has been having some problems. It seems there is dried up poop stuck in his anal flap. Hes been eating regularly yet has not pooped in 3 days most likely due to the stuck poop. Ive been giving him bathes for 3 days and it doesn't seem to help. I am also making sure his humid hide stays misted. Ive read on the internet extra virgin olive oil and or pure pumpkin can help with constipation. Dose that sound like a good idea? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

I wouldn't give any oils or pumpkin. They may work for constipation in dogs and humans but I would hesitate to give them to a gecko. The first question I think should be - is what you're seeing constipation? It could also be a prolapse and, in that case, treating him for the wrong symptoms could make things worse. I would keep up the soaks for 10 minutes once per day for 10-15 minutes, keep him in super clean cage with paper towels on the bottom and keep the paper towels damp. I would consider getting him to a vet next week if it doesn't clear up before then. A good reptile vet can help you decide what's going on.

Ok he did not poop today and I am really worried. After a 15 min bath that thing was still hard. If it is a prolapse what do I do? Should I just take him to a vet? He had some stuck shed in his flap for about 2 months now I don't know if that caused this or not. How long can a gecko go without pooping? and should I be feeding him at this time?

I would have to agree with what has been said. it could be a prolapse. i would defo recommend seeing a vet asap before any thing gets worse. they will be able to give you a proper diagnosis and advice on what to do.

I just want to let you know I got back from the vet tonight, It was two sperm plugs. They were successfully removed and Maximus seems to be doing a lot better, just a little tiered. Thank you for your replies!
