I wanted to get some silkworms as a additional feeder, but not the main feeder. I would like my girls to have some variety.

Anyways, does anyone order them and just keep them in the container they come in (mulberry farms ships with food) or do you have to set up a new house for them?

Silkworms are a wonderful feeder and even excellent as a main or staple feeder. The pods they come in should be fine for them. Just make sure to follow directions and empty out the defecation as needed. You would need a new home for them if you planned to raise them and have them breed.
