Silkworms...

So i have a question for those that have kept or used silkworms before...

I just got a few different feeders in this morning, because i am trying to offer a varied diet to one of my geckos to try and get her to put some weight on her, and silkworms was one of the type of worms i decided to try out (never used them before).

I have already noticed how much "silk" they lay out nonstop, lol... but if i put them in the dish, will they just make a bunch of it, and my gecko will not even be able to see the worm or eat it, and 2, can they climb out of the dish, and eventually out of the tub (can they climb smooth surfaces)? Haven't seen them actually climb the side of the dish yet, so i dunno... they are just "huddling" in the middle and kind of climbing all over each other, lol.

Just trying to figure out how i can actually feed these things! Thanks!

I feed them off using chopsticks...usually my geckos will take the wriggling worm directly from the chopsticks. I have also left the silkworms in a dish with them overnight, I choose the medium sized ones, they produce less silk than the small ones - less chance of them tangling into a silkworm ball.

And yea, they can climb verticle surfaces, but usually they don't move far from their dish.

...Even these kind of dishes? Can they make it over the rim?

Yeah, i woke up this morning, and checked it (i have the medium silkworms too), and all the silkworms were all stuck together in one silkworm ball. So i had to pull em all apart from the silk separate em... and remember as i was doing it, i was thinking in my head "are u serious...?!?! people actually buy theese stupid things as a feeder?? This hardly wormt it..." LMAO!

but thanks for the advice on the chopsticks/feeder tongs thing... i'll see if that works!
