Size of heat tape on racks?

You set it up according to a ratio. Shooting for 1/3 of the bottom being heated is a decent place to start. I'd err on the side of less than more personally. Gives them a wider gradient.

I was actually against heat cable until I bought a rack that came with it. It is annoying to have to run it back and forth but It has worked just as well as the Flexwatt tape I use on my other rack.

The heat cable works great, but my tubs are a very tight squeeze in my rack, so I'm going to switch to tape on my new rack so I can still have the snug fit without struggling to get the tubs in and out over the cable. Also, the type of wood I used doesn't like the gorilla tape I used so it peels :/
