I know that some other reptile babies (Beardies) can't be put in huge tanks, is the same true for Gecko's?

I'd like to upgrade from the VIv in my starter kit to something bigger for him\her to have plenty of room, as soon as possible but without having to buy a tank every couple of months.

If you'll only be having 1 (stop snickering everyone!!!) then going up to a 20L would allow you to get pretty creative with the tank. If your leo is very small just make sure that you monitor its eating. Mealie worms make it much easier because you can leave a specific number in the dish & know when they are gone. Crickets you have to search for if you don't know for sure he ate them.

LoL! Is there anyone that only has one gecko? And has no intention of getting another? I thought I would have only had one for life when I got my first, but that changed quickly! Definitely after finding this site with all the breeders with beautiful geckos :main_yes: !

I remember saying I only wanted one. That lasted all of 2 weeks. It's kind of hard to say what kind of tank you want though because it will really depend on you. If you think you'll want only 1 or 2, than a 20L would suffice. But what if you want more right away?

I went from a 10g tank for my one gecko. Than I got another gecko and went ahead and bought another 10g. Later on, when I wanted to keep them together I bought a 20L. I wanted MORE geckos so I used the 10g tanks again. I then decided to keep those together to form a harem so I bought a 40g breeder. Then (I know, an addiction) I bought some more geckos so I bought another 40 Breeder. Once I figured out that my tanks wouldn't house all of my geckos comfortably and safely, I went ahead and built myself a rack.

I have 25 geckos now and hoping for more! Sorry for the rant but you can see our addiction!

Like Jeanine says though, go for the 20L.:main_thumbsup:
