My mom works at a pet shop and she said some type of Skink they have just laid eggs and she's all curled up around the eggs. It happened sometime today. Any advice? I'm not too familiar with skinks. Do they incubate their own eggs? I have an incubator. Should I try to take the eggs home and try to hatch them? Or just let the skink do what she needs to do with them? Any advice would be great. Thanks so much.

They don't know what kind of skink. They just got it in. It's greyish/brownish. They're a small pet store, so I'm not sure if they really know what they get shipped in. They said there were eggs in the cage and she was curled around them. I don't know anything about skinks. I was just worried about the little eggs.

Post a pic of the skink, the eggs, and how she was around them. That might help a few people ID her, which can make this whole process easier.

Well, I just thought someone would be able to give me a quick answer. If the eggs do need to be incubated, I'm sure the period has ended since it was a few days ago. She doesn't go into work until Tuesday. If then, the eggs seem okay, I'll have her take a pic. Thanks!

Some skinks remained curled around the eggs until they hatch. Could it be some native North American Skink? If the area she's in is suitablely moist you can choose to allow her to remain with them or remove them to an incubator, BUT it helps to at least know what it might be for temps ,etc. She MAY defend the eggs as well.

Well I might try to incubate the eggs at like 85 if that is needed. That would most likely be a safe temp. until further research is done.
