Skittish male

Are male more high strung than females?? I can take my young female and she will be calm sit in my hand crawll aroun a lil on my arms and shirt, but my male does not calm down at all. He always trys to jump out of my hand n get away. will he grow out of this at all with handling?:main_huh:

He should... but he may just be an lil butthead too I have a theory about genetics and temperament. What kind is he? A tremper was it?

well everyone keeps say he is a normal with some tangerine in him but i did some research and i think he kinda look like a hypo tangerine ct

yeah Im not sure what he is but I bet that if you fatten him up and he gets used to you and everything he'll most likely calm down a bit. But than you never know. BTW I think he's a normal like This Fool. His tang inst enough and i think he has too many spots on his tail. Im no expert but thats MHO.

i think males are actually supposed to be calmer on average than females.

He should calm down in time. I still have one that is still a bit fiesty and I had her for 7 months now.

I have a gecko just like that too, hes really skittish, but he'll always take a waxie out of my hand!

I was cleaning cages today and now she made me a lier grrrrrrrr. She was calm and stayed in my hand and I didn't even have too rush and put the lid on the sweater box I put the geckos in when I clean. She must definately take after me lmao

geckos all have diffrent personalitys not all like to be handled, some do some dont.

He should grow out of that. We have a male BB that bit the crap out of me when we first got him. Now he climbs on the front of the glass for us to take him out of the cage when we are in our gecko room. lol. But the only way he can get more comfortable is with handling

I think it depends on the morph as well. Some morphs are much more calm then others.

Basically do what was said above. I have this male that always used to fly out of my arms. I took him and made a loose cave over him with my hands, putting him on my chest. Marcia, the gecko whisperer, told me to talk to him in a soothing voice and it will calm him down. It has worked. He still has his days but for the most part he is a really good boy. Good Luck.
