Slate tile?

Hi I was wondering if I can use slate tile with sand under it so the temp doesn't get too hot. I heard it was great because there is no risk of the leopard geckos eating it so no impaction and it is closet to their natural habitat and it looks great and I am using sand for now. I do not like that stupid eco carpeting so don't even suggest that thanks.

Yes, slate tile would be great. Actually the sand underneath will help level the tiles. Temps should not get too hot with a thermostat or dimmer.:main_thumbsup:

I use slate tiles with sand underneath myself. No grout or sealant or anything. I just washed the tiles really well and put them in there. Makes it super easy when cleaning because you can just pop the tiles out, wash them and put them back in. :)

Thanks I really appreciate it. And are you a breeder or no? Just curious because I have some questions about that too.

I switched to slate in all 3 of my cages and put sand underneath all. I am satisfied completely with the decision.

I am currently using slate tiles with sand under. I use reptile carpet in the places where the tile doesn't cover, works great so far.
