Ok so this is the bell albino I bought from the kid at the pet store, his mother informed me the gecko is 5 months old and they got it from a pet store, but i have seen 6 month old geckos that were 4 times his size, hes only 7grams and is maybe 3 to 4" long, he should be bigger, he eats 2 superworms every other day, everything but his size is fine. whats wrong?, btw he did loose his tail before they got him. could that be it?

there are some 6 month old super giants that weigh 70+ grams! when a young gecko loses its tail, it can really hinder their growth, but that weight at that age is way off--99% of my 5 month old geckos are over 40g. but I don't work with Bells, and my males are giants...

the best you can do is to take very good care of him and he should (if he isn't stunted) start to 'catch up' Good luck, and congrats on the new gecko :)

*I personally don't feed superworms to a gecko of that size--even the smaller ones--regular mealworms would be a much better fit for a gecko of that size

You really have to pay attention to what your feeding your mealies or super worms. "personally i would go with mealies". The nutrition your gecko gets comes from gut loading the insects. If the heat is right. 88 deg on warm side 70 on cool, and you are gut loading (example ground dog food oatmeal carrots) your gecko should start to put on some weight. You should be feeding 8-10 medium mealies every other day. In this case always make sure their are meal worms in the bowl. I also put calcium right in the feeder bowl. Here is a little trick that you can use to get him going. Put a little Repti vitamin powder in a small bowl. Add a little water to make it pasty. Mix this up. use a cotton swap to dip this mixture up. gently place a small amount on the side of the geckos mouth. They will lick it of. Do this a couple of times for a week. the extra vitamins will get him going. Just do not overdue...

The gecko doesn't look that skinny to me. I seriously doubt it's as old as they say. I would say it's about 3 months old? But 7 grams seems VERY underweight..are you sure it's 7 grams? It looks much bigger...the tail being regenerated will make it weigh less....hmmmm

Can you put a quarter next to it and take a picture so we can see a comparison?

looks more in the 15-18 gram range to me, but still small for that age(if indeed it's that age).

Malorie is right, it's not that thin either.

I think that little gecko weighs around 10-12 grams according to the pic with the penny. It's true that losing it's tail will make it weigh less, but this gecko is very small if it is as old as you were told.

All you can do is make sure it has a warm temperature of around 90-92, a cool side, plenty of calcium and weekly vitamin supplements... and as much food as it will eat in one feeding. I suggest leaving a bowl of mealworms so it can free-feed, and a few dusted crickets a couple of times a week.

If it's environmental needs are met, and it has plenty to eat... hopefully it will catch up on it's age/size/weight!
