A while ago I asked a question about terrarium decor, someone told me for wood in his aquarium he goes into the woods and gets wood and bakes it in the oven at 250* for 15 mins. So went out into the back yard and cut some cherry and popular for the tank and followed his instructions. the only problem is that the popular has been giving off the same smell of fresh cut popular ever since, can this be harmful? Let me know asap. thanks!

Poplar doesn't have a lot of resin in it, so I think it's a pretty safe wood. I'm guessing it's yellow/tulip poplar (Liriodendron tulipifera)? I think you're fine.
