So I'm trying my hand at clay pendants. Heres my first two prototypes.
What does everyone think?

Very cool looking. The green with yellow is easier to see the detail compared to the dark brown. Although the snake on the pendant does look neat. I bet with a screen you could make some nice markings in the clay to get a bit more detail...sorry that's the kid in me who loves to play with craft stuff!

The green pendant is just barely over an inch long. The black one with the set background is an inch and a quarter long. Its supposed to be a black "Chondro" looking snake with red eyes and markings, but none of the detail showed up in the picture. :(

I have a few other blanks to try some other combos with. One is a more tan color that I'm going to try my hand at painting RT Boa markings on. :)

So the one with no back is the one prefered by everyone?

Do you think just some regular screen would give some scale detail?

Thanks you so much for the input and the tips. I really appreciate it. :main_thumbsup:

I really like the second one as well, now you should do leopard geckos. Just think of all the color morphs you have with them.

Actually, I have been working on both leos and turtles!
I'm having a heck of a time with feet, though. I'm trying to figure out how to make a "cane" that actually looks right.

Bear with me, folks. I'm working on it!:main_thumbsup:

They look really good!! I always loved making things out of clay, that's really awesome :)

I think the screen idea is really good, and would imagine that a regular screen would work great :)

Thank you so much, folks.
I also want to try my hand at an eyelash viper, so hopefully the screen trick will work well. ;)
