So, I've never had a skink before, or for that matter, a burrowing reptile, I just got this guy a few days ago and of course am worried he's not going to make it because he doesn't seem very aggressive..Well when he UN buries himself, or I check on him to make sure he is okay, he sneezes a few times.
Now common sense told me, well he burrows and the substrate is loose coco fiber so obviously he could get it in his nose, he's just getting it out..
Which made me think of the Galapagos iguanas expelling salt from their noses hahaha.
To be on the safe side I looked up, upper respiratory infections, and sneezing in skinks.
I read, that sneezing is common because they are clearing their nose.
If they have any sort of discharge around nose, eyes, or wheezing, it's probably a respiratory infection.
Well he has no wheezing, or discharge, just sneezing when he UN buries.
So, is it normal?
We don't have a rep. vet here, so if it's not normal, I wouldn't know what to do........so if anyone has any advice if it's not normal.
