So I have my happy new leo, all of about 50 hours now. Typical banded looking except that where you usually see the yellow/orange s/he is a grayish color. Little guy/gal is about 2 inches htv, guessing about 2 months.

So first night after I go to bed (11p-6a) and before work eats 5 mealies and did it's doo. Came home from work at break (9a) s/he had finished off the other 2 in the dish. Second night I drop mealies one at a time in front of the hide s/he eats 5. Lets 2 go on by after checking them out. After about the 3rd one (eaten) it doesn't back into its cave it just hangs at the front with his head out.

I moved the hide getting the two run away mealies. The Leo bolted for the far end of the tank. I returned the hide to its place and went to grab a couple more mealies in case it's hungry by morning. It had returned to the original hide and did it's second doo.

S/he wont do anything other then red light which my borrowed camera doesn't agree with but other then that seems to be doing good. It's napping off breakfast just a little out of it's hide now.

If I'd been thinking, I'd have snapped a pick when it was still in the container i brought it home in. I'm not wanting to risk a flash at this point for a pic. I'll assume I'll need to container it for the first good tank cleaning I'll snap a pic or two then.

so questions
1, did i get real lucky by getting a leo that seemed to acclimate to his new tank enough to eat within 12 hours?

2, It seems to walk around a bit "upright" legs strait, standing as tall as it can. Is that common? It does it a lot when i come into view. Is it a fear thing, a defense thing or just a getting a better look thing?

3, What kind of time frame should i look at for that first cleaning? I have slate tiles so its an all at one time kinda thing. I'm of the mind if "they" are comfortable get them into a habit so they will be less stressed by such things. It worked with fish and "smarter" pets so I assume it can be applied to leos.

4, How common are the non yellow/orange banded? Not albino or anything, has the dark bands just grayish rather then the yellow. I would guess not that rare as i got it from a store. Haven't really seen a picture (could have missed it easily) though.

4. I don't know. But I found 2 BB's at a pet store for $24.sumfin .
