So I am pretty new to Leopard Geckos. I Own a 5yearold leopard gecko and I am just wondering what is a Healthy weight for him. I haven't weight him ( I don't have a digi scale at the moment but am getting one soon.) He looked a little thin to me when I got him so I have been feeding him up on crickets (gutloaded) and mealworms. He has some nice shape to him and his tail has some nice chunk to him. But just wondering what is a good weight range for him to be in? thanks and have a great new year:D
I don't feel there is anything wrong with him I am just wondering ( felt I should add this)

That really depends on how big of a gecko he is. Is he 8 inches long, 11 inches long, largely built, not largely built?

agreed, every gecko is different and different morphs have different builds too. i have a 3yr male thats in perfect proportion that weighs 121g at the moment whereas another one of mine is 6yrs but looks on the chubby side for his frame but only weighs only 82g.

I'd agree. Adults can vary from 50g to 150g+. The "right" size really depends on how big the gecko is. I tend to go by look rather than a certain weight. If you post a picture folks may be able to help you understand if your gecko is over or under weight :)

OK lets give this a try (crosses fingers) OK it worked. So this is my buddy Rodney I will be picking up a digital scale soon as moneys permit He has a great appetite AND LOVES to hunt. I am just not sure how much to feed him per feeding which is normally every other day with dusted food 2-3s a week he stands up nice and tall and from what I read that is a good sign that they are not lacking in calcium. These are not he realy nice shots I took earlier but for some reason they wont let me upload them( I think it had something to do with the color of thepicture its all red from his bulb. Mind you I am not worried about his health as he is very active mostly in the evening I was just wondering I don't want to get him fat or anything I just see some of these pictures with MONSTER geckos ( I understand some of them are giants and super giants.) just let me know what you think. and ijust noticed that both cut of the end of his tail but it tapers out a bit to a thin point also these pics do him no justice
