I know, its a little late. But I finally got around to moving pictures off the camera and getting some into photobucket. What can I say, I'm old. (Thats my story and I'm stickin to it)

These are just a few pictures of our oldest son, Josh, being presented traditional dancer's regalia. The one presenting is Josh's, elder and teacher, as well as good friend, Bobby Dees. Bobby isn't able to dance anymore, and for the holidays, he and his wife, Rochelle drove down from Mississippi specifically to hand down this regalia to Josh.

And finally, the infamous Bells. Josh always loved these bells. Everyone could hear Bobby for a mile!

For those interested, a dancer's regalia is very sacred in the Native culture and is only handed down within the family, fathers to sons, etc.
Bobby and Rochelle never had kids of their own, but have always been part of my kids' lives. Josh was taken in as Bobby's student when he turned 10 years old.
We're from different nations, but the heritage is pretty much the same.

Thanks for letting me ramble on and show off some pictures.:D

That's very special! I have plenty of Native American in my dad's background. I love going to the festivals they have here in Florida and watching them create crafts, and do the dances that they have passed down. I also love hearing the stories the elders tell at the festivals. I don't know my heritage too well, unfortunately. :( Wish I knew exactly what area I am from...
