Alrighty, so lately I have been making it my goal to get Ares more used to being handled. I suppose his previous owner must not have paid much attention to him or held him much so he was really skiddish for a while. Today he actually seemed like he wanted to be held. After being out all day, I came home and he came out right when he heard my voice. A friend of mine picked him up for me because I had some renovations I had to make to his terrarium. I finally bought tiling for flooring, which looks amazing! He was actually being a suckie and was enjoying being held! He lied down on my friends lap and snuggled into him. Lol! Could he be coming around??
Now for my surprise. Today I became the proud mama to a fire skink. I named him Cynder (Not sure whether it is male or female or how old it is). After handling it I realized quickly that it was quite the sucky itself. It's demeanor reminded me so much of Kiya. Very relaxed and laid back. She fell asleep on my friends lap. And also loves to have it's head petted, especially between the eyes. I am very excited and hope to form another amazing bond with my new family member. Of course when I get a decent camera I will take pictures and post them, and I will also post pictures of Ares' terrarium.
