Some people just should not own pets. I am sure some of you read my post about my Khayman ( my little rescue guy that had to have his tail amputated when I got him). Well the guy that gave us Khayman and his 2 female cage mates asked my husband last friday if he would want 2 more that he "didn't have time for" ( one is doing well and not in horrible shape). Being a softy, my hubby went over to his house right away and picked them up. My husband called me to warn me that I was about to have a fit and to try and not be too upset. I asked him why and he said that the male gecko "wasn't in good shape". OMG, that was such an understatement. This poor gecko is knocking on deaths door. He has been starved. The vet tested for crypto right away and he was negative. He had pin worms and he was given pancur. He was 24 grams , quite long and I swear you can see every bone in his tiny little body. He ate right away ( i was so happy about that) but then he started throwing up. He went back to the vet and he also has gastroenteristis probably caused by not having food for so long then getting mealies. He is now on medication #2 and only slurry. He takes the slurry 6 times a day in very small amounts. I have pictures but I haven't got a chance to get them uploaded yet due to the storm here in Southern Indiana and the power being out. I bought Walmart out of handwarmers, LOL. I made sure all my babies had plenty of belly heat though!!!! What really makes me sick is that this guy has 2 more that are in ok shape and he wants to hold onto them for a month or so,grrrrrrrr. He obviously has no time for these poor animals. He said that he had money in them. I am sorry but what is a starving gecko really worth to most people? Noone is going to buy the poor things from him. The sad part is when he realizes that he doesn't want them either and they are in terrible shape and he calls, I HAVE to go get them. I can't even go off on the guy like I want. My husband has to work with him everyday. I so want to tell him what a cruel heartless idiot I think he is. Thanks for letting me vent. I feel better

Yeah some folks have no business owning pets. And the trouble is, they dont even realize it!!
I have a neighbor who had his puppy tied to a poll in his yard with a rope only about 6 ft long, it was raining, and he had no shelter.
The poor dog was just sitting there getting soaked. I had to go out in the rain
and bring him into my basement and dry him off.
I told my neighbor, if it ever happens again I will call the police.
So much for neighborhood diplomacy!! :main_laugh:

The poor things! That sounds like what happened to a friend of mine. She had to adopt like 8 more leos because some person was going to throw them away. :/ So now she has near 30 leopards. x.x

So far Ely is holding his own. He has actually gained 8 grams on Marcias slurry. He took the last dose of his antibiotic on Saturday and we haven't had a throw up since Friday!!!! I know that he is far from out of the woods and our vet says not to get our hopes up too high. He is such a little trooper that it makes it really hard not to get them up. I swear he will have to gain 20 grams before you will even be able to tell. The female ( Rainbow) seems to be thriving. She has gained 9 grams and eats anything that hits the floor of her tank, LOL.
