As promised, here are some pictures of my three Tokays.
Hope you enjoy them...
The two females show that Tokays can be very cute when they want to... at least among themselves...
The two females "holding hands". Ahhhh.....
The two females. One is always a light grey base colour, the other one is darker most of the time. They stick together during the entire day, at night they leave each other's company a bit more...
The male of the pack. This one, I expect, is going to give me the most trouble. He is the only one that snaps at my hands when I get too close, even through the glass of their tank, and is very nervous when I work in the terrarium... So I try to respect him as much as possible and provide him with the rest he apparently needs at this moment in time... I took this picture when I had him for three weeks. Now, almost two month on, he grows at an almost frightening rate, and is clearly bulking up... and I love him for that!
One of the females just before shedding her skin. Note the chalky grey base colour.
The same female just after shedding. Orange spots in their full glory. I really love the light base colour of this one, I guess it's my favourite one of the group.
This female Tokay shows just exactly what it is I love about them - don't they just resemble clowns? Evil clowns, sure, but clowns all the same... I just love their funny smiles!
I hope to post some new pictures in the future.
Kind regards,
Gerard Slooven
