Here are some updated photos of "Evrae" from Jess (Fallen Angel Geckos). We got a breeding pair from her project and this is the male. We are so grateful for her to letting both him and Lillith (LBS het raptor) come here. Their first babies here just hatched and we're smitten with them!
Evrae was having a lot of problems eating, we resorted to feeding slurry quite a few times when we couldn't get him interested. It may have been enigma stubborness (though he only has very mild enigma syndrome) or just a change of environment that threw him off. We were really distressed with his decision to go on a lengthy fast. Finally, we stopped babying him. Told him to suck it up and eat out of a dish like everyone else :main_laugh:
In all my past experience, the best way to feed was with a large shallow dish so the geckos can see the worms clearly, get into it to chomp it down. So we threw some waxworms, some mealworms and some superworms together for variation and he's been eating like a pro ever since. He isn't really picky, and eats what he catches, providing his aim, so we've been mixing in a few waxies in every meal.
He's gained all his weight back and actually is starting to look tubby in the middle. Without further ado...here are the pictures.
