Hey guys my leo is in shed right now. Like his past sheds hes having a little trouble getting it off. I think its mainly due to the fact he has nothing good to rub against. I had a nice piece of driftwood is there but some beetle grubs burrowed in to it. I need something that isn't slippery but not to ruff that he cuts his nose. What do your geckos usually use to shed on?

Mine tend to stay in their moist hide until they're done.
One of my girls is doing just that, actually. If she wants to she could rub against one of her other hides, but they usually have a clean shed so they never have.

Well let me explain better when I say trouble shedding I don't mean stuck shed. I mean it takes him a very long time. Mainly because his humid is a tupperware and when he tries to rub he just moves the box.

How long are we talking about?
Mine will usually dull up for a few days before they even try to remove the shed, which takes them a day or so to remove everything. Mine also have a converted food container as their hide but have never had an instance of them being that agressive with their shed.

Same here he dulls for two to three days before even shedding. Once he dose start shedding though it takes him about 12 hours to get his shed off. My other leo on the other hand will shed in an hour or two.

Mine usually starts the shed by rubbing the door edges on his warm hide (which is one of those ones made to look like a rock cave), then pulls the rest off with his feet and teeth.

Um, I have an off question one of the heat pads under my tank is drooping on the corners. Its only two years old and its mainly due to the fact i removed it once and put it on another tank. Can I use electrical tape to stick the corners back on?

I've used Gorilla tape to do that before, you can certainly try it. Any tape that won't melt should work.

You should know that the companies really do not recommend removing the tank pads and moving to another tank once you've stuck them to one, as the internal wiring could be damaged and lead to a malfunction. In the future, if you'd like to be able to move heat pads around, you could stick them to some aluminum foil and then tape to the cages.
