Here is her tail. I dont understand what is going on. She is in her own viv so cant be a bite and i feed her the supers by hand im not even sure if they could do that to her anyways. Its just small but im worried it will maybe get bigger. Any ideas on what it could be that has caused this ? Wverything in her viv is smooth so she cant have caught herself on anything.

supers can and will bite. if it gets infected and enters her bloodstream, it can be fatal. i would treat with neosporin and if it gets worse she will need a vet visit. hope she gets better soon.

I feed the supers by hand but i dont 'spose meal worms could do that ? I keep those in a dish in the viv and when she eats them sometimes a few escape and are loose until i see them.

If you're going to use neosporin on the wound make sure you treat it with some type of vet approved antiseptic first to make sure you aren't trapping any bacteria n the wound. Many people don't think of this because it is an antibiotic but my vet has told me on more than one occasion when it has come to injuries with my dogs and other mammals that you can trap bacteria in the wound if you don't clean it first.

Mealworms can and will bite if the are left to roam the tank with out an alternative food source for too long. Any feeder can bite.

As far as the mark goes, is there any way that she could have kinda lifted one of her hides enough and have it come down on her tail? Also your temps are on the lower end of acceptable. If Bonnie has an injury you might want to consider taking that a little warmer say mabe the 92-ish range (88-95 being the "acceptable" range).

Have you noticed any stuck shed in that area on her tail? It looks like a little pit in her tail that has scabbed over or is it the skin itself that is dark and hollowed? Dark skin is never really a good sign, kinda reminds me of necrotic tissue. Has her tail always had that odd kink at that spot or is that new as well?

Ok i think i will just got up to my lacal vets and have them do to her tail what they will. They dont do reptiles but i'm sure they would clean it up and sell me anything i need to keep it clean.

I put chunk of veg in the dish for the meal worms but nothing laying around the viv for the escapees think i'm going to have to re think that as Bonnie is a messy eater. Just thought because they were so small it wouldn't be an issue.

I spose she could have lifted one of the smaller hides most of them are pretty chunky though but i spose anything is a poss she shed this week and she rubs off the hides pretty hard what she is taking it off.

Its the skin that is dark and it is a little indent. this could only have happened between tuesday and wed night because a held her on monday and there was nothing up with her. Yeah her tail has always been like that not sure why just one of Bonnies many little quirks. She has she this week and she does sometimes have probs with shedding but only on her belly and toes. She does not seem to have a problem with me touching around the area so it must not be overly painful for her. My poor girl i feel so bad esp if it was her food that done it.
