Spyro Snaps.jpg

Hi everyone,

This is Spyro, who I believe is a hypo carrot tail morph of leopard gecko. Spyro is just coming up to six months old and I've had him or her for nearly two months now. He/she is the first reptile I've ever owned and is already very fond of climbing on things, usually my hands and arms!

He/She is very pretty. I'm not that great with morphs but there are quite a few people on here that are. Have you checked near the base of the tail for bulges and v shaped pores yet? That's how you determine the sex or you can look up pictures for comparison.

Thank you! I haven't checked yet, although I'm familiar with the signs to look out for - I'm always so focused on making sure he or she is alright when handling them that I forget to check!

Most are like that, mine likes to be handled on his terms and hates being picked up when I need to remove him from his tank.

It's nice to know that someone else has the same situation! He's picking up speed when he clambers onto my hand and tries to run right up my arm. I might start taking him over to my bed to handle him when he does that in case he falls.

I let mine out for exercise on the bed or couch, mine prefers our bed because it's a king sized bed so tons of room to roam. Right now mine is brumating and not as active and hates being out of his tank so I just let him do his thing when he wants to.

Very nice. =) Morph wise, I would call him/her a super hypo, possible tangerine (it's difficult to tell color exactly from the pictures). There's not enough orange on the tail to be considered carrot tail.

Thank you! It's good to have a better idea of the gecko's morph.
