I've read that veiled chameleons are the easiest. Of course, no chameleon is a good beginner lizard. They are high maintenance, and very prone to stress.

Chameleons aren't a a first time reptile. I use to breed chameleons and did so for ten years. I would suggest for you to get a different reptile but if your heatr is set on a chameleon. Start buying books on them and read. Then i would get a set up with everything you need first before your get one. The cages I suggest are the reptariums. They need the air flow that these cages give them plus they can't see their reflections. The biggest problem i see people do is get glass cages for them, even if there is only glass on a couple sides its still gives off a reflection that stresses them out. Once you get your cage you need to get heat domes one light bulb for heat during the day and them a red light bulb for heat at night. They also need a light that gives on UVB, so you will need a light fixture. The ones that go on top of fish tanks. Once you have the vines needed in the cage find a warm spot in your house that doesn't have a alot of traffic. if you get all of this I would suggest a veiled chameleon and if you get one of these you can put a ficus plant in the cage. I would buy one of these from a breeder, the veiled will eat the leaves off of the tree. Hope this helps, if you have any other questions fell free to pm me.
