So its been 4 days since I got my two beauties and they still havent eaten.... Smokey is staying pretty dark around me so I know its either she's not used to me or the heat issue. I saw Sherbert let a king crawl right over her and share her hide.(Got the little bugger out) I got some med and large crix and they didnt hunt them. I even "spluged and got somw waxies but no dice. Im kinda gettin a little worried about my family. So tonight Im going to get a little taller feeding bowels so they worms dont run around the cage and Im have to get some regular meal worms. Anybody got anyideas.

That is exactly what I would do. I really wouldn't worry about them. It just sometimes takes a while for them to settle down. Make sure not to handle them at all until they have eaten for you.

What type of cage do you have them in? What are the temps in the cage [basking, cool side, air temp]? If you have them in a glass tank, you may want to think about adding a heat lamp or covering up part/all of the lid w/a towel or even saran wrap. A lot of heat gets lost through the screen of the cage. Something to remember is that the temperatures have dramatically dropped here in California over the past week. So.. Temperatures in the cage are going to be really important.

We're still having the UTH issue so it is kinda cold in there. I was looking around and I'm leaning towards the Exto-terra UTH over the zoo med cause they seem to cause a lot of problems when there the small ones. The exo-terra from some reviews Ive read gets REALLY hot so attach the rhetro-stats/ dimmer and I should be set. There 10 Gal terriums and we've put satin pillow cases over the tops for that reason. (Very executive;) )

:main_laugh: Nice and Classy!

Do you have a thermometer in the cage? If you don't I would recommend getting one that you can have in the cage so you can be sure of the temps. Digital ones are really nice because you can check the temperature immediately rather than having to wait around for the thermometer to show the temps. Sometimes a heat pad won't be enough to heat the cage up all the way.

we have one for all 3 cages now.. I think we might just get the red heat lamps tonight since I want to night view anyway. And the ceramic heat emitter for the big cage. Hopefully I'll be able to turn off the big UTH and save a little plug space.

When I have gotten geckos that don't like to eat for me I get really worried. Usually I let them go for seven days to help the stress of being moved. During this time they are covered up with white paper in their ten gallon tanks. I will try feeding mealworms, but only a few a night. At the seventh day, if they have not eaten I will try crickets because they actually trigger the geckos hunger reflex. Good Luck with getting your beauties to eat!

I have seen a few breeders actually suggest not feeding a new leo for 2-3 days. They also mention to keep your interaction with them to a minimum. VMS Herps suggest covering every side of the tank with paper or something similar. Then every week after the gecko arrives take down one side of the paper. Do this until every side is uncovered. This is to help reduce stress and hopefully get them accustomed to their new environment quicker.
