Stenodactylus sthenodactylus substrate

I was wondering what people keeping these geckos use as substrate I have read that some people use paper towel but others use sand. I am unsure of which one is best to use, I would assume paper towel would be safer but I could be wrong.

I keep all of mine on sand. I tried paper towels for a bit while some of the wcs were in quarantine. But they really seem to do better on sand. They dig like crazy!!

Never had any problems...even with the tiny babies.

Really fun little geckos!

Thanks i was reading about them being diggers so i was unsure of paper towel so now i know.
