Is it possible to have a sterile female? I have a het RAPTOR female that has been in with my male tremper since she started to ovulate in January. I've seen them do the deed several times, and she has never laid eggs. I know it isn't the male because he was put in with a different female for 2 days and she laid eggs Jan 15th and they are doing great. The female is a year and a half old and is 67 g. Should I wait another year to breed her or just leave the male in with her for a bit longer?

I've never heard of a Leo being sterile. I hope she's not. She can retain the sperm of the male for a pretty long time and use it later. I would just keep them together unless they are rough with each other. Good luck.

I hope she isn't either. And I have never heard of one being sterile, just seems weird that she hasn't laid eggs. She is still in with the male. They seem to get along really well together. So I guess I'll just leave them be.

Thanks for the input!

It has been about 4 weeks since I witnessed them. She was ovulating when I put them in together. But nothing ever came of it. Two weeks after I put him in with her, I noticed another female was ovulating. The male spent 2 days with her and then went back in with the female in question. The other female has had 2 beautiful eggs and is due to have 2 more here in a few weeks.

This morning I looked at my female and she is not ovulating now. So I moved the male out of her cage. I will wait until she is ovulating to try again.
