Strange lump on juvenile raptor front leg joints

Its been awhile since I've posted here on this forum but it is still my go to place for all current leo information. I learned everything I know about leos from this forum and thought I had seen almost everything until I seen these lumps in particular on this little mack raptor that hatched this year. As it turns out I am starting to see a few of these lumps all in the same location on a few of my geckos all of which are mack snow tremper combos. I also have mack snow radar combos and none of these lumps are showing up on them. My first thoughts are maybe gout starting but I'm not sure which is why I've come back to the mecca of leo information ;) I'm also wondering if it could be a genetic thing being based through my tremper lines. All of my tremper geckos are of similar lineage.

As far as husbandry and feeding goes I haven't changed my system in a few years so I don't believe it's related that. Temps for my geckos are low 90's on warm end and high 70's cool end. Main diet is mealworms dusted with Repashy ICB at every feeding, until the armpit bubbles show up any way and then I cut back on supps.

Let me know what you guys think.

Lumps above joints are a sign of MBD, although I will admit I haven't seen that symptom first hand. Even if you haven't changed your system, they company could have changed the supplement mix on you. I remember breeders discussing that last year, but no one would say what brand had done it (SUPER helpful -_-).

I would suspect a mineral imbalance or gout, but obviously, consulting with a vet would be your best option.

Thanks for replying. I'll take her to the vet and see if I can get an xray to determine if it's bone or some kind of deposit. I find it interesting though that it only seems to be in my tremper geckos that hatched this year and a couple from last year. All my other geckos (none tremper) are not showing any lumps and are taken care of in the same manner. Maybe I'll also try switching up the supplement brands for awhile and see what happens. Do you have a link by any chance to the thread you mentioned about a particular company changing their formula?

Thanks again

The way I supplement my geckos is with Rep-cal. I use the Calcium with Vit.D3 every feeding. Then every 3-4 days I use Herptivite Multivitamins. So far I have never had an issue with my geckos having MBD. Truely ally my geckos stand up really tall and pick themselves up quite a bit when walking.

The discussions on a formula change happened on air during a Gecko Nation Radio episode (unfortunately, can't remember what episode... ), but there was also some talk off and on on Facebook.

Managed to search up one of the posts on The Gecko Blog group on Facebook; you'll probably have to join the group to read.

Thanks for digging that up for. I'm actually working my way through the gnr podcasts so hopefully I'll stumble across the episode eventually.

I'm fairly certain it's not MBD. All my reptiles are supplemented on a regular basis to the point of getting arm pit bubbles in the Leos..lol I'm actually leaning toward a genetic flaw in my Tremper line that might be causing some kind of mineral imbalance. I've changed up my supplementing routine a bit to see if there is any changes. The affected geckos still behave and move around normally.
