I have no idea what pin stripe is unless it's a bp.

There are bold stripes, red stripes, patternless stripes, and reverse stripes. I may be forgetting something else.

Hi Kristi - i heard a patternless stripe is the result you get from crossing a bold stripe to a "stripe"... now what does "stripe" there mean? is that a reverse stripe?

I honestly don't know the genetic difference (how they were started) with bold stripe and stripe. I've worked with bold stripes and patternless stripes more than anything else. I believe a patternless stripe came from crossing a stripe and reverse stripe.

A bold stipe should be a line bred stipe that has bolder, darker lines. It needs to come from bold stripe lines to be a bold stripe if that makes sense. Otherwise it would just be a regular stripe. There are extreme bold stripes, too. Those are super dark/thick but again need to come from specific lines.

my bad, i meant reverse stripe x stripe = patternless stripe.

but there it is, what is "stripe" crossed with the reverse stripe there? is the stripe there a bold stripe? do you have any pictures?

I don't have any current bold stripes or stripes. Maybe try leopardgeckowiki or even a bing images search. Not sure how accurate everything is, but there may be pics. Geckos Etc has a very large selection of geckos, so you could probably see the different stripes on his site.

The way I look at it, all stripes are either stripe or reverse stripe. The rest is just variations on that theme. Stripes have the base color along the spine (white/yellow/tangerine) and two stripes of marking color (lavender/emerine/red/etc.). Reverse stripes have the marking color along the spine and base color on either side.

A gecko displays no pattern when it has both stripe and reverse stripe traits. This causes the entire back to be the base color with no markings. Would be interesting to see if someone could get the opposite effect (all markings with no base color), but I don't think anyone's hit on that yet.
