I have a juvie striped AFT that is up for adoption. She has problems with internal swelling of her cloaca and CANNOT be bred. I would like her to go to someone with experince keeping reptiles and she is to be a PET ONLY for the following listed health reasons.

The vet diagnosed her as having sustained a traumatic injury to her cloaca before she was in my care. She suffers bruising along her vent area and when severly irritated this area bleeds out. She cannot be soaked in warm water b/c it will extract the blood in the bruise. She is on Lactulose to ease the passing of stool. She is a beautiful animal, very calm and sweet however I need the space. :( I have had her for five months now.. she eats regularly and is very healthy and active otherwise.

She feeds on crickets only.. her meds will be included ofcourse. I am asking for a rehoming fee of $30, this includes her humid hide, log, and rock ramp. I will not ship her and am located in NE Philadelphia. Pickup only please.

Shane, the only reason I am hesistant to do so is the stress of shipping could worsen her condition. The injury she has may have occured during the process of shipping, the breeder told me she was inspected before being sent to me, so because of this I think it would not be a great idea. I will let you know if her condition clears up then I would have no problem shipping her, weather permitting ofcourse and you would have to pay shipping costs.

You having an AFT already reassures me.. just to be clear she cannot be bred even if her bruise went away.. the internal problems would reoccur during breeding.

Sorry to hear about that!! I just had a Leo pass away from something along those lines.. she wasnt eggbound, she had partially developed follicles that werent forming, she became lethargic and passed away within a week. Even after the vet visit and medicine :main_no:

Well atleast the vet knew what it was!!! Mine had no idea and gave her a shot of calcium, which gave her a huge swollen spot on her tummy... looked like this... then shortly after she passed. This was worse than you can tell in the pic.. it protruded from her abdomen and was very dark.

It wasnt eggbinding because her stomach was never hard... and this lump appeared the day after the vet gave her a calcium shot. The follicles develop on the sides of the abdomen (which is where we saw them, the vet and I)
I believe this swollen area was her reproductive system since when a female ovulates.. that is where you would see the pink circle. And the mass was oddly shaped.. not round... it also had indents in it ?!?!? I dont know if you can see..... pics stink! There were three dents..
