stuck shed

Okay so I work at a pet store and we board animals here and someone
brought in their leo and the poor girl has shed stuck to her top lip and it's
completely covered her nose and it is pushing her lips back. It's so bad that
she no longer has any front teeth! We've manged to get the shed off her
bottom lip but we're having a hard time with the top. Besides water what
else could we try? She's having troubles breathing because of the shed.
