Styrofoam Hide Question

I am planning on trying to build a styrofoam hide for my leopard geckos. I have read to use grout, but im trying to just use stuff that i already have. I have this caulking stuff that says its easy to sand and fast drying. Would this work? Will it work on styrofoam, and is it non toxic? Or can i just paint the styrofoam?
