I love my little gecko Mellow but I think ive spoiled her. In the begining I mixed crickets and mealworms that were dusted and let them roam free around the vivarium. However I noticed the worms were becoming beetles by escaping to corners or under paper towels and the crickets crapped EVERYWHERE. So I tried to move onto only feeding by hand and watching Mellow eat to prevent rouge bugs. Then I found a nonescape dish to put the worms into. Mellow would eat them at night at first but she suddenly stopped. She is still active, still healthy looking (fat tail, can't see bones, big belly =D) so im not too worried but it is annoying that I can put a swarm of meals in her dish every night and she will ignore them. When I drop them infront of her she will eat but she is not very fast and I still have to worry about escaped worms. Should I switch mealworm supplier? Try different worms? Spray the worms with fruit or something? I think she sees them not moving and assumes their dead. Thanks for any help

Try a shallower dish. My Leo will not eat from a standard feed bowl or cup but will eat from a jar lid. I tried a shallow glass dish but he kept trying to strike through the side and would get discouraged. The lid is shallow enough he can see over the edge but the lip keeps the mealies inside. Putting a small piece of carrot in the dish keeps the worms fed and hydrated and in turn moving more.
Like little kids, they will eat when they are hungry enough.
