I generally don't use a moist or humid hide, I simply mist their paper towel substrate every know and then and make sure that their water dish is full. Though for a moist hide I would recommend spaghum moss, I've never had a good experience with eco-earth. Matter of fact I've had more deaths on it than anything... learned that lesson REALLY quick. Slate is a good choice for substrate, though paper towel or newspaper (I prefer paper towel since I know where it's been) is a lot easier to maintain in my opinion. NEVER use loose substrate like sand, dirt, wood chips, gravel, etc.
