substrate

My crestie is 7 weeks old and I got him on paper towels will this be ok for now? Is there a better substrate I could give him at this age? When can I change substrate and what to?

I use paper towel for all my cresteds, juvies and adults alike.

Especially for gravid females, it's ideal. You don't have to dig up the entire enclosure to find eggs. The only downside is that it requires more spraying.

I keep my 2 month olds on paper towel too.

ive had mine all paper towel the entire time, i just think it works the best, these guys will get mouthfuls of paper towel when going after crickets, if i had a loose substrate i can only imagine how much of it they would ingest.
