Suggestions for better insulation

Hidey's UTH is about 9 months old. It's only heating up to around 75 right now. The thing is the tank sits on an open oak cabinet so there is nothing beneath the heater to bounce or trap the heat from the bottom. Our house is quickly dipping into Fall temperatures, but it's too early for us to turn on the heat. Do you have an suggestions for a lightweight insulator that won't melt? I'd rather have an idea of what I'm looking for when I walk into Home Depot to avoid some of those weird looks I get when I say I'm building my gecko's home.

Hopefully I've made sense, if not ask & I'll try to explain better. Thanks everyone.

maybe aluminum foil would work, i'm actually going to try it myself because my thermometer is only reading about 88 right now on the hot side...

aluminum foil is working so far, it raised the temp to 90 within about 10-15 minutes of being on there.

i actually took it off because the temp was still going up after it hit 92 and i was worried it might get too hot, but if your uth is only getting up to 75 i think you would be fine

It really did help, but the UTH still wasn't getting warm enough. Out with the old & in with a new one. Thanks for the suggestion.
