Suggestions please...

I am constructing a website for all of my pets. I have some of it done, but would like to get some input.

The whole site will be in html, so it won't be anything fancy.

There is a very limited amount of information on it at the time. I don't want to invest too much time, just to redo everything.

So, I got as much done as I can get done. I have run out of room for pictures... For the time being, I have the Leopard Gecko section finished. The rest will have to wait until I get better hosting.

Any suggestions or comments?

Looks great. Only one suggestion that you should make that everyone (including me) has done. Right now you are using HTML to resize your images <img src="" height="100" width="100" /> and that increases the load time of that image, and your site, by a lot. What you can do is open it up in paint (right click + edit) and click ctr+a to highlight the whole picture. Than drag the bottom right all the way until it's the size you want (there is a reference for pixel size in the bottom right). Than there is one more step. Click 'Image' in the top menu and then 'Attributes' (or ctrl+e) and change the width and height of the image to what you just made it. Then save it and upload it. And it should load faster. Hope I helped ask with questions, tried to make it simple lol

I didn't even think of that. It would cut down a lot on bandwidth too.

I am thinking of adding a drop down menu for faster nav, but I'm afraid that it will add too much clutter. I guess I could add links at the bottom of the page...

Does anyone have any suggestions for the contact page? I really like the form idea, but the php script doesn't work with angelfire.

So, I resized the images in the leo section. I am literally out of space now, so the other sections will have to wait.

I also tried to make a banner, but I am not very good at graphic design.

Loads 100x faster now And as for contact form that one should work fine if you buy real hosting. If not PM me and I can whip up a simple custom contact form for free.

Thank you for your input so far. I made a few minor changes tonight.

I now have images up of nearly all my animals. All of them listed have some up anyways.

I added a news and update section, so in case anyone is interested in what I am doing.

I will be adding an "about me section and putting up photos of my FBTs as well.

Am I forgetting anything...?

Oh, I added a marquee that shows upcoming shows and events. Locally mind you.

I've been contemplating that. I got it done today. It does look a lot cleaner, I think. I have a few more small changes planned, but it will be a few days before I get them up.

Oh, most of the info would now be above the fold if it weren't for the ads at the top.

I changed from free hosting. I now have my own domain. It looks so much better now.

Ok, now I would change all the Headings ex News and Updates. The Dates : Saturday, August 15, 2009 to different colors and Make the dates bold.

I would also Put the Welcome to my website And the updates in two different coulums. Like side by Side.
