Sunglow vs Tangerine

So I wanted to add a tangerine to my collection but I found some sunglows I am in love with.

The only difference I can see is that a sunglow is lighter.
What is the breeding difference?

And also which do YOU prefer :)

I think if you get the Sunglow pair you could have more opertunities in the future. You could get a really nice shtct and breed it to a tang and get some killer tangs. Up to you, both are cool

Oh ok, I understand now.
They are just albino versions of tangerines. I will pretend I know what SH is

lol

:)

So if I breed two sunglows I can get both sunglows and regular tangerines?
Which would be more dominant

(Sorry for being a noob)

no if you breed two sunglows you get sunglows..its pretty much the same thing as breeding 2 albinos together, except with no spots and orange lol....

Oh okay.
I was just making sure!
All I know is when I bred albino chinchillas I got all normals until the second litter! Now, chins are not leos
But genetics are usually similiar :p

I always liked tangs a lot.... Athough you cant go wrong with either.
I agree with Daniel, although I am partial to bright color :main_yes:

The nice thing about sunglows, however, is that they aren't as common as tangs it seems.

I really like the urban sunglows, but other than that i really like the tangs better, as most sunglows seem washed out to me.

That's what do most of the time when I can't make my mind. LOL! That will be amazing if you get both.

So, I just got my first "Handleable" reptile, a leopard gecko. My sister gave it to me as a semi-birthday gift. She said it was an Emerine Sunglow, but the internet pictures aren't matching. Can someone tell me what genes it looks like it has and what morph?

Another forum thought it was just a tangerine possible, and maybe a hypo?

He just went into shed, so I can't get any more pictures. I know his tails a little thin, but I'll fatten him up. Apparently he doesn't like crickets, so can I still gut load meal worms/ wax worms?

That would just be a hypo tangerine. A young one at that. It may be emerine, but you can't be sure without knowing the genetics from a breeder. We can only tell you what we think it looks like though. We will never know the genes unless you do years of extensive test breeding, or get information on it from the breeder it came from. :( And dont feed waxworms! They are nothing but fat, you can't gutload, them, and your gecko can actually become addicted to them and quit eating anything else. Wax worms should only be fed to healthy adult geckos on very rare occasions to avoid these hazards or liver and heart diseases. Mealworms are great though, and can be gutloaded well :) Remember to keep veriety in their diet though, because they get bored with one food constantly, and may not even eat it if they do become bored with it. Throw in horn worms (not wild caught!), phoenix worms, roaches, silk worms, butter wworms, etc. Veriety is one of the keys to your geckos health! :D I hope this helps you out a little bit, and your gecko looks to be a healthy weight, so you shouldnt have a lot of issues I don't think :)

On a side note, please remember to look at the post dates of the threads you are on. If it hasn't been posted on in over a month, you should generally not post. This is called "thread necromancy". When you have a question in the future like the one you asked now, be sure to start a new thread of your own instead of dragging an old thread up :D

Btw, what are you supplementing your gecko with?

Welcome to the forum!

Oh,thanks for the info.

Sorry, I didn't realize it, it was one of the top hits on google for info and I was dying to learn more.

I have some calcium, but I don't know what else to give. BUT!!!! He's apparently not a stickler for crickets and won't touch them, really. I haven't seen him turn down a cricket, but I haven't seen him offered one either. For the gut loader, can I buy the cricket gut loader and feed it to meal worms? Or is there a "Mealworm gut loader"?

His tail looks good to me for a young one, as when I went to the show (and I am no expert) the breeders had adults with nice fat tails but all the babies looked about like that picture and so does the one I got. I don't think their tails can get that round when they young. But again I AM A TOTAL NEWB but I myself was worried about tail size but noticed all the babies seem to look like that.
