It has been a while since I posted about the sunrise and sunset, well this is the first year that they have been bred sunset to sunset and sunrise to sunrise and the babies are awesome. The only ones available are at VMSherp, Sean has babies hatching as well as a few surplus adults. The Sunsets are a double recessive tangerine and blizzard with the Sunrise being a triple recessive tangerine, blizzard, and albino. The tangerine is not from a hypo line but from the tangelo line. There is some confusion about the tangerine in this line possibly being a co-dom but it's not. In starting this project I bred a tangelo to two groups one consisting of five female blazing blizzards and the other five blizzards. Between the two groups I hatched 178 animals and not a single one was tangerine. The following year I bred the F1's together and produced a wide range of animals including some non albino tangerines, tangelos, and the first sunset. As you can see from the pics on Sean's site these are spectacular looking geckos.
Take a look at both the babies and adults so you can see what these animals become.

Thank you Kristi.

If there is anyone on the east coast that would like to take a look at these in person let me know, I am contemplating getting a table in Myrtle Beach. Now that we are in Charlotte, North Carolina we are within driving distance of many of the Repticon shows. If you would like to see them just shoot me an email. These are stunning geckos and look even better in person.

It is easier to put in, than take out! We are working on it though and are breeding Sunset x Sunset but without breeding any of the Sunsets to Trempers it will be hard to say for sure. We will know shortly whether the male used was a het if not then at most they could be pos hets if the females were but we don't plan on breeding any of the females to trempers, that would just confuse the results. I can only imagine how nice a Sunset bell is going to be!

Good stuff, Nick. I had the pleasure of seeing these in person at Repticon Denver back in April, and they are really cool. Definitely on my list of "need to be giantized"! ;)
