Hello,

I want to make a super snow blazing blizzard somehow I just want to know if Im in the right direction so hopefully some of you (breeders) can help me.
I already have a super snow blizzard female and Im going to buy a tremper albino male soon. So if I would breed these two technically I would get mack snows het blazing blizzards right?? then if I breed these macks together what would I get and which proportions? there would be super snows blazing blizzards too right? small chance but there could be some?
and If you got a better Idea of how to accomplish this with my super snow blizzard I would love to hear it. Thank you so much :):)

YEAR1
Homozygous snowc, Homozygous blizzard,
x
Homozygous albino,

-----------------------------------------------------------

100% Het. snowc, Het. blizzard, Het. albino,

THEN SIBLING BACK TO PARENT

YEAR2
Homozygous snowc, Homozygous blizzard,
x
Het. snowc, Het. blizzard, Het. albino,

--------------------------------------------------------------------

12.5% Het. snowc, Het. blizzard,
12.5% Het. snowc, Het. blizzard, Het. albino,
12.5% Het. snowc, Homozygous blizzard,
12.5% Het. snowc, Homozygous blizzard, Het. albino,
12.5% Homozygous snowc, Het. blizzard,
12.5% Homozygous snowc, Het. blizzard, Het. albino,
12.5% Homozygous snowc, Homozygous blizzard,
12.5% Homozygous snowc, Homozygous blizzard, Het. albino,

THEN SIBLING TO SIBLING

YEAR3
Homozygous snowc, Homozygous blizzard, Het. albino,
x
Homozygous snowc, Homozygous blizzard, Het. albino,

--------------------------------------------------------------

25% Homozygous snowc, Homozygous blizzard,
50% Homozygous snowc, Homozygous blizzard, Het. albino,
25% Homozygous snowc, Homozygous blizzard, Homozygous albino,

Not a bad way to go...

I'm going to try the same thing next spring but instead with a SS and a RWBB. It will be a long road but a fun one! At least three years unless I get a head start with some $$$ geckos.

I know some breeders have been working on this project and have come up empty handed so far. Paul Sage comes to mind...Paul?

It will take two seasons, but your best is to get either a Mack Snow Blazing Blizzard or a regular Blazing Blizzard. If you can find a MS Blazing Blizzard you'll make MANY more SS Blazing Blizzards because you'll make only SS Blizzards het albino and MS Blizzards het albino.

Here's what I'd do...

Mack Snow Blazing Blizzard x Mack Super Snow Blizzard =

50% MS Blizzard het Albino
50% SS Blizzard het Albino

- Incubate all of the eggs for female
- Breed all females back to father (better yet get a new unrelated male MSBB) the following year

thanks for the replies. The thing is I live in the netherlands there arent many mack snows and super snows let alone het. (blazing) blizzard over here :( and shipping one is too expensive. Now the thing is if I do it like Steve said how will I tell the difference between a Mack Super Snow blizzard and the MSSB het. albino:S

You would have to prove it out first...add one more year to the project!

This would be a much better plan as the phenotype tells you what's happening...

Het. snowc, Homozygous albino,
x
Het. snowc, Homozygous blizzard,

25% Het. albino, Het. blizzard,
50% Het. snowc, Het. albino, Het. blizzard,
25% Homozygous snowc, Het. albino, Het. blizzard,

The SS's are the ones to continue the project with.

THEN BREED SIBLING TO SIBLING

Homozygous Snowc, Het. Albino, Het. Blizzard,
x
Homozygous Snowc, Het. Albino, Het. Blizzard,

6.25% Homozygous Snowc,
12.5% Homozygous Snowc, Het. Blizzard,
6.25% Homozygous Snowc, Homozygous Blizzard,
12.5% Homozygous Snowc, Het. Albino,
25% Homozygous Snowc, Het. Albino, Het. Blizzard,
12.5% Homozygous Snowc, Het. Albino, Homozygous Blizzard,
6.25% Homozygous Snowc, Homozygous Albino,
12.5% Homozygous Snowc, Homozygous Albino, Het. Blizzard,
6.25% Homozygous Snowc, Homozygous Albino, Homozygous Blizzard,

Your odds get a little lower on the last go round but it is still possible you could get the SSBB in two years and no requirment to prove any geckos for any traits!

The hard part is finding the geckos to start the project with. Most of the ones I've seen are het for other traits or not RW type albino.

Is anyone out there close to producing a SSBB?

Your best bet in your case(location and availability) is to mate her to a tremper blazing blizzard to make ALL mack snow blizzard 100% het tremper.

From there mate the offspring back to eachother.
