Supplementation?!?!

Okay, so, I have gotten very confused/agitated about this lol.

Everyone is suggesting different things and I'm not sure what to do anymore! So, currently I'm leaving a dsh with just calcium in the tank at all times and have been on a temporary standby with the vitamins until I decide how I want to supplement. First, some details what I'm feeding her (if this even makes a difference)

She's been on a staple diet of mealworms but I'm thinking of varying it a bit (actually a lot) so now its a few crickets and silkworms. Does anyone have any recommendations and a good schedule for her? When we bought the supplementation we were told NOT to get calcium with vitamin D3 and we were given the rep-cal herptivite, and rep-cal calcium.

So, anyone have a good supplementation schedule?

Thanks for answering my questions :)

If it's a young or juvenile leopard gecko, dust with calcium & multi vitamins every feeding. You are doing fine leaving a calcium dish inside the tank at all time. When they get older, you can then dust every few days. But if you have a female that's going to breed, dust food with calcium as she'll use a lot during breeding season.

You only need to worry about over dusting if you are using calcium w/ D3. If you got calcium with D3, dust only a couple of times a week.

There is info both ways about suppimentation. IMHO D3 is a bigger worry in animals that get daily UV lights for basking as its actually the sun light or UV light that allows the body to create D3. Seeing as out Leo's don't have basking bulbs or UV bulbs I don't see any harm in using the calcium+D3 as a sole supplement.

I use Reptical (calcium+D3) in the dish in viv 24/7 and dust feeders everyday or everyother. I have not had any issues.

And as for the feeders...I would just get whats on sale at the time. As long as your mixing it up your good. There need not really be a "schedule".

Okay sounds good :) Just two more quick things I just thought of lol

1. Is it fine to mix half the rep-cal herptivite with half the rep-cal calcium for dusting?

2. Phosphorus....I know they need it but I can't remember HOW they get it or if I need to supplement it into her diet. She gets a little bit of sunshine...sort of, from my window (though she's not directly by the window) and, if my memory is correct...which it probably isn't XD, I thought they got their phosphorus from sunlight? Or something?

I read an article on MDB in a magazine and it got me all freaked out and worried so I've become a tad paranoid lol.
