Was at the gym this morning, got a picture from my wife, one of my sons holding one of our 18 month old Cresties, and another son, holding a DAY OLD GECKO!!! We had no idea they were even a M/F pair, much less breeding, much less gravid, much less laying, much less hatching... lol. Now there are 2 hatch lings in with the mama and papa. It seems to me, that in nature, nervous parents will sometimes eat their young? I just thought I should take the little ones out. Not sure about this at all.
Sooo, this is kind of my question: Do I remove hatch lings Or better yet? Remove the mama and papa? I never made a laying box, never found eggs to put in a separate box, so there just in the substrate some where. I was just wetting and stiring my EchoEarth coconut fiber 2 or 3 days ago, didn't see any babies or eggs, but wasn't looking either, so I was being kinda careless. Like I said, this was a total surprise to us, so I wasn't even looking.
So? take the mama/papa out? Look for new babies for a week or two? Or, gently look through the substrate for young/eggs? And remove those?
