Was at the gym this morning, got a picture from my wife, one of my sons holding one of our 18 month old Cresties, and another son, holding a DAY OLD GECKO!!! We had no idea they were even a M/F pair, much less breeding, much less gravid, much less laying, much less hatching... lol. Now there are 2 hatch lings in with the mama and papa. It seems to me, that in nature, nervous parents will sometimes eat their young? I just thought I should take the little ones out. Not sure about this at all.

Sooo, this is kind of my question: Do I remove hatch lings Or better yet? Remove the mama and papa? I never made a laying box, never found eggs to put in a separate box, so there just in the substrate some where. I was just wetting and stiring my EchoEarth coconut fiber 2 or 3 days ago, didn't see any babies or eggs, but wasn't looking either, so I was being kinda careless. Like I said, this was a total surprise to us, so I wasn't even looking.

So? take the mama/papa out? Look for new babies for a week or two? Or, gently look through the substrate for young/eggs? And remove those?

Done. Had a few little tanks laying around. Did a gentle dig through the substrate. Found out, she has laid 3 clutches of 2 eggs per. Found 2 eggs sans babies :) and 4 more un hatched. The 2 babies are in their own tank. The 4 eggs are in a 1 gallon glass tank, same substrate. Not completely dry, but not soaking wet either. Just about like the substrate I found the eggs in. Very close actually I figured if it was wet enough for her to lay in them, it's probably perfect to leave them in. :) We are very excited about our new little Crestie family, but there is a lot to think about, and a lot to learn. Looking forward to the experience.

Any tips on incubation of eggs? So far I've read that room temp is fine. 68-78F Moist but not wet substrate. Don't spray eggs directly. Anything else? Any of these points just completely wrong?
