So I woke up this morning to find an egg in my cage. I was told that both of the geckos were female but I am now going to assume that they are not.

Anyways I want to try to hatch the egg but I am not really sure as to what I need to get. It laid it on repti carpet so I am not even exactly sure if it is still hatchable or not. Anyways any help is appreciated.

They could both still be female, some females lay with or without a male. It is very easy to check the underside for pores. If one is not a male I would suggest simply discarding the egg. It cannot be fertile without a male and the stress of setting things up to try to incubate it wouldn't be worth it. If one is male you'll probably need an incubator (you can get one for about $45 at Tractor Supply), a sandwich container or deli cup and come perlite or vermiculite measured in a 1:.8 ratio to water by weight (you'll probably need a gram scale to measure it as well).

I would also look around and see how to make a moist hide or lay box and provide one for your females. Having a proper place to lay eggs may prevent them from holding the eggs too long and hurting themselves.
Good luck!
