I was honestly surprised tonight I went into a local petsmart and there were healthy baby leopard geckos 2 Super Hypo Tang Baldies and one I couldn't tell it was shedding. There cage was fairly clean considering babies poop alot. They were plump and active. I was very happy to see this. All there animals looked good its just relieving to go into a petstore to see healthy animals and not sickly almost dead animals. I was very tempted to buy 2 of the babies. but there is a reptile show this weekend in tampa, florida so i will wait and see what i find at the show and if i still have money i might pick up those babies or just one. this is one of the first times i seen good looking babies at petsmart. the 2 others in our area i have been too only have adults now that are well taken of but i rather have a juvie not a hatchling but about 4-6 months old so you can easily sex it. though i have just bought some that were almost a year old. but they were very nice and nicely priced. I just had to say how proud i was to see this petsmart taking good care of their animals.

i am also really happy to hear that. Hopefully they were not on sand. The guys at my local "Pet Store" call me sometimes to come and take the babies that are sick or tail-less, because they put them with adults. Once, the manager told me that they put them all on sand as a way of trying to sell the product.....

But I do admit, there are good stores and bad stores. Mine is a mediocre store, and luckily, they take my advice when they call me up to come and take some geckos off of their hands. I am however surprised by the variation of morphs. I don't like to support these stores since the geckos come from wholesalers that got them from a large breeding ring that breeds for quantity , not quality, and in some cases, are not treating them humanly.

Around me, they use....wait can I say the wholesalers name?

lol they weren't on sand they were on repticarpet which is good to me if they keep them clean which almost impossible with baby leos. yeah i like buying them from small hobbyists sometimes bigger breeder...i have sold to some local petstores i dont like doing it but when you cant afford to feed the babies any longer they need to go somewhere. i prefer to sell them privately to families. i hope this year i can have babies hatch if my geckos ever lay eggs.
