i have an egg that is incubated at 87F and currently on its 36th day,and recently showing some sweating spot on it.it has not gone bigger like its clutch mate does. there's just a spot on the egg about 1cm in diameter and not productive sweat. but its wet and a bit slippery. its doesn't smell yet.
is this ok?
what should i do with that spot?
sorry, this is my first time on leo eggs..
thanks!

It may be getting ready to hatch. How did you realize that it was sweating? I'm just asking because an egg is due any day now...

i also thought of that. i only noticed it since last night. i opened the tupperware tub for weekly oxygenation and noticed that the egg has that spot,a bit grayish in color, so i took a closer look and and touch it. its wet and slippery.

ok heres a question again. if the egg hatch in the tupperware tub, how long can the hatchling survive inside the tub without opening it?
i cant be around checking it 24/7.

Hatchlings kicking around other eggs is definitely something to worry about.. if I have an egg that is expected to hatch and I know that I won't be around, I usually put that egg in it's own seperate container.. but you have to make sure the containers have the same humidity, because too much change in humidity can also cause problems.

yah thats my worries too.
probably il try to put on a divider inside the tub.. il pit on air holes to the divider so the air inside will be able to pass through. hope it'll work :main_yes:

That should work pretty well, as long as the divider goes completely from the bottom to the top of the container.. those little ones can surprise you sometimes ;) It sounds like a good idea, and should work pretty well.

If you don't use air holes in your containers already, though, I wouldn't put new ones in there. That's just me though, I base the humidity on the measurement of water to perlite when I prepare the containers, and never touch them again throughout the season.. So if I had any air holes, I wouldn't know how often to moisten the stuff.

yes you're right. i didnt put on air holes on the tupperware so i would'nt mist it again.
thanks, il try to put that divider from top to bottom and make sure it wont be pushed or moved.

anyway an update on that sweating egg. the spot grows from 1cm going 2cm now. im still keeping my hopes..
